House in Novograd-Volynsky, where Lesja Ukrainka was born (Sobornosti street, 76 / 2)

Please be aware that this house was built in 1828. It is one-storey, built of wood on brick foundations, plastered, has 8 rooms with total area of 96 square meters. In 1871 P.A.Kosach hire there apartment for his family (wife Elena and son Michael). Here 13 (25) February 1871 was born his daughter Larissa. House at the time belonged to a certain Okruzhko, a street called the Sluchanska. Kosach lived in this house to fall 1873 and then moved into the house, which now has an address Kosachiv street, 5a.

In 1970, the eve of celebrating the 100 anniversary of the birth of the poetess, there was placed a museum of Lesja Ukrainka.
