House in Surami (1913)

House in town Surami (Georgia). General view

This house was located in an area called Zindisi and owned by railway worker Papava. Here have spent the last 10 days of Lesja Ukrainka's life – from 9 (19) to 19 (31) July 1913. In a terminal illness she was cared by her mother and sister, Isidora. Hence her body was transported to Kyiv for burial in Baykove cemetery.

This house has not been preserved. In 1920th it was dismantled and moved to another location, and in 1980 dismantled.
