Police will search Kosachiv’s apartment on the Mariinsko-Blagoveshchenskaya (now Saksaganskogo) street 97 on the night of January 17-18, 1907. The search lasted from half past one to six o’clock in the morning. Lesja Ukrainka and her sister Olga were arrested and imprisoned in the Lybid police station (pictured), where other Ukrainian figures, including B. D. Grinchenko and M. V. Lysenko, were already being held.

The arrested were released on January 18, 1907, and a receipt was taken from Lesia Ukrainka to appear at the Kyiv Provincial Gendarmerie Department at the first request (but there was no such request in the future).
