The inscription on the monument

Photo N.I.Zharkikh, April 27, 2008. To officially Soviet elements on the monument is just this little quote. No arms of the USSR, or sickle, or hammer, or five-pointed star, or soldiers with machine guns or worker collective farmer (for the monument, established in 1939, even surprising).

The inscription is: "… Lesja Ukrainka, who standing close to liberation movement generally and to proletary in particular, give to it all her forces, cultivate wise, good, eternal (Pravda, 1913)". Please note that this quote from the obituary, written by Bolshevik P. J. Djatlov, but there is no his name – he was executed as an enemy of the people in 1937, and the authors of monument knew this…
