January 14 Lesja left the Batumi during storms in a small Italian steamer, arranged for summer. It was very cold and dangerous, rode to Constantinople near Anatolian shore took a whole week.

In the section «Guide» we publish an article by B.Jakubsky "Old Tale" (1927).
In the "Old tale" was fully completed and reflected the Lesja's view on the poet's calling and task, that she looked for in a few early poems.

I was struck by one part of the article by Russian liberals in the great journal of russian Social-Revolutionary, in particular those relating Dragomanov and his "funny Ukrainophile nationalism." (19 Jun 1903, to F. V. Volkhovsky)

Her strophes are extremely versatile. Just striking that Lesja plays with strophic structures, looking for all the time the most interesting and the most demanding.

In the section «Guide» we continue to publish an article by B.Jakubsky "Lesja Ukrainka's lyrics on background on the evolution of forms of Ukrainian Poetry" (1927). Today – "3. Role of Lesja Ukrainka in evolution of Ukrainian poetry".
Lesja Ukrainka, not exceeding these masterpieces, but still found for her elegies a new tone, a new, more subtle, more intimate subject matter and accordingly it and kind, high clearance.
